Biography

I believe Southern Utah to be the most vibrant and beautiful place on earth. I have been blessed to live in this remarkable area for most of my life. I grew up on an 80-acre farm in Cedar City with my parents, Joe and Sally Melling, and my five siblings. My close-knit family has been a great support to me throughout my life and has taught me that it is not what we have, but who we have, that is truly important in this life.

I married my dream-girl, Sara, almost six years ago and together we have three beautiful children, Kyson (8), Kaden (4), and my little princess Sadie (2). We love to go camping, fishing, and four-wheeling as a family, or just spend time playing together and gardening in our backyard. My greatest joy in life is spending time with my family.

Second only to my family is my passion for learning. I am constantly seeking new educational opportunities through reading and by surrounding myself with those who stimulate an instructive environment. My love of reading lead me to co-author the book "Wealth Under Construction," as well as prepare a number of self-improvement and training seminars. I graduated from Cedar High School in 1993 and attended SUU for a time. I am an entrepreneur at heart and have been involved in many forms of business throughout my life. I have owned or been involved in a pizza parlor, a dry cleaning business, a call center, a staffing company, a mortgage brokerage, a real estate company, and I was licensed to sell securities and insurance at one point as well. I am still involved in many of these companies, but the exciting real-estate business is my first love among the business ventures I have undertaken so far. I have been fortunate to work in both the mortgage lending and real-estate brokerage areas. I am proud to help people find a place in this area of the world that I love so much.

The past two years have been interesting to say the least, but I am proud of the communities in Southern Utah for pulling together to solve the complex problems we are facing. I hope to play a role in continuing this trend of unity in our area and to have a positive influence on those involved in buying, selling, or investing in real-estate!
