Sandra Salinas was born and raised in Brownsville. She entered the mortgage industry when she relocated to Austin in 1992. Taking an entry-level position for Austin's largest home builder Miltex, now known as D.R. Horton Homes, she quickly moved through the ranks learning all facets of the business. In 1994 she moved to McAllen to work for Valley Mortgage where she became an Underwriter for Conventional, FHA & VA loans. From 2001 to 2007 Sandra held a position with them as Branch Manager, opening their San Antonio Branch Office. Sandra found her way back to Brownsville in 2007 when Valley Mortgage was purchased by Texas State Bank, then becoming Compass Bank. She joined ACADEMY MORTGAGE in 2011. Throughout her career, her one passion has always been the connection she makes with her homebuyers. Her vast knowledge, experience and the understanding of every single aspect of closing a loan is what contributes to her success in having her clients achieve their dream of owning a home.
