Academy Mortgage’s Sales Conferences provide an opportunity for our top producers—our President’s Club and Executive Club qualifiers—to relax, recharge, and most importantly, reconnect with our team members from across the United States.
Academy’s Los Cabos Sales Conference was no exception, bringing old friends together and introducing new faces. Our President’s Club qualifiers and their guests were joined by our Executive Club qualifiers and their guests to fiesta and siesta on the beaches of Mexico. We welcomed more than a dozen qualifiers who were attending an Academy Sales Conference for the first time.
The General Session was kept to a minimum, leaving the attendees plenty of time to enjoy all that Los Cabos had to offer. President James Mac Pherson gave a “State of the Company” address and facilitated the sharing of best practices among the group. Executive Vice President Abby Hawkins announced the launch of Workplace, where Loan Officers can now collaborate, ask questions, and get ideas.
The attendees participated in a variety of popular off-resort excursions in small groups, like spear and deep-sea fishing, zip-line adventures, ATV trips, sunset cruises to see the famous Land’s End Arch, and dolphin encounters. While a few groups went on actual whale-watching expeditions, our guests were treated to sightings from the resort pools and restaurants as well.
Planned group activities brought out competitive spirits in beach games like volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and spike ball.
One of the most memorable parts of an Academy Sales Conference is the Awards Dinner. Each year’s conference has a different theme, and attendees are told to dress accordingly! At this year’s dinner, pirates abounded as the company celebrated their mateys’ achievements in the previous year. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Duane Shaw Achievement Award to Sales Manager Tera Davis. This award—named after our founder—is Academy’s highest honor, recognizing “above and beyond” diligence, commitment, and efforts in our company, industry, and communities.
Academy is headed to Israel and Oahu in 2020—we’d love for you to join us. Contact Chad Melin for more information.
