Why service is so important to us
It’s not unusual to find a member of The Hometown Team out and about, working to Inspire Hope in the local communities they serve.
For The Hometown Team of Academy Mortgage, comprised of Rachel Rogers, Teechee Buhnerkemper, Robby Moran, and Ellen Morgan, the name rings true. The members of The Hometown Team are all local to Jacksonville, either graduating high school or spending decades raising families in the area. Giving back is how the team shows their thanks.
Locally, Rachel has served on the Board of Directors for Clay Behavioral Health Care and The Institute for Growth and Development for more than 20 years. The Hometown Team also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Clay County Rescue Mission, Kids First of Florida, Northeast Florida Realtors® Association River Clean Up, and many other organizations in Clay, Duval, and St. John’s Counties.
“In service to our Veterans, we also participate in Wreaths Across America each year,” Rachel says.
Our team is always here to help
The Hometown Team’s emphasis on local service is an extension of Academy’s commitment to Inspiring Hope worldwide. With more than 24,000 hours spent in over 1,600 communities spanning from Ecuador to Paradise, California, Academy believes that providing a spark of hope has the power to create positive change.
This spirit of service trickles down to the customer. As The Hometown Team has seen firsthand, getting out and giving back reminds them why they got into mortgage lending in the first place: to change lives for the better. Local community involvement enables the team to better connect with and help meet the needs of homebuyers from all walks of life.
“Look for The Hometown Team at an event near you, and don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any community-related needs. We’re here to help,” Rachel says.
